Hi! My name is Romy Stanley and I am an artist. I always have been, it's in my blood. When I was growing up in Colorado, I remember my dad showing me these beautiful drawings, paintings, and photographs that he did when he was younger and I knew I wanted to be just like him. I had a crazy imagination so I always loved drawing and coloring things for the people around me. But that imagination also meant that I was terrified of everything. Drawing morphed into painting which then morphed into something completely different when I entered high school. In freshman year, something pretty bad happened to me and I realized that I wasn't as afraid of things like I used to be because I knew what the real thing looked like. I became more interested in horror movies and what was involved in making them happen. I turned to special makeup effects as a way of coping with my trauma and it turned out to be something I was pretty good at! I taught myself as much as I could before going to community college for Technical Theater in 2017 and then moving on to The Tom Savini Special Makeup Effects Program at Douglas Education Center in Pennsylvania In early 2020. Now I am here! I still love making things for people and doing projects that make me happy. That’s why I’ve decided to use my accumulated skills for good by making things that other people can visualize, but not create themselves. I work on commission so I can make people’s perfect artwork as well as creating various types of art to sell on this website.
